Calgary Opera has named Tara Laberge as the New McPhee Artist Development Program Manager.

She will take over starting on Sept. 1, 2025.

Laberge is a performer, educator, and adjudicator, and will be charged with the McPhee Artist Development Program, which supports young artists and bridges the gap between academic training and progressional careers for up to eight singers per season. The program provides mentorship, performance opportunities, and real-world experience.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tara to our team,” said Sue Elliott, Calgary Opera General Director and CEO, per an official press release. “Her diverse artistic background and commitment to nurturing emerging talent make her the ideal leader for our McPhee program as we continue to develop the next generation of opera stars.”
