‘Cabrini,’ Featuring Rolando Villazón, Set for Theaters this Week

On March 8, 2024, Angel Studios is set to release Alejandro Mointeverde’s new film “Cabrini.”

The movie tells the story of Mother Cabrini, who after witnessing disease and poverty in the slums of New York, embarks on a daring journey to persuade the hostile mayor to provide housing and healthcare for hundreds of orphaned children.

The film stars Christiana Dell’Anna alongside Oscar nominee John Lithgow, Federico Castelluccio, and David Morse. It also features some opera stars including tenor Rolando Villazón who has appeared in “Joyeux Noël” as well as a cinematic adaptation of “La Bohème,” alongside Anna Netrebko. He is also set to star in an upcoming adaptation of “Die Zauberflöte.”

Mezzo-soprano Eugenia Forteza also stars in the role of Sister Umilia, and soprano Chelsea Feltman plays Sister Aurora. 

Virginia Bocelli and tenor Andrea Bocelli also contributed an original song to the film which has already racked up half a million views on YouTube.
