Rolando Villazón, Eugenia Forteza, Chelsea Feltman Among Cast Members of Untitled Cabrini Feature Film

The cast for the upcoming Francesca Cabrini biopic has been announced and opera fans will be excited by some of the cast members.

First up, the film, which is set to star Christiana Dell’Anna (renowned for her turn in the hit series “Gomorra”) in the title role alongside Oscar nominee John Lithgow, Federico Castelluccio, and David Morse, will also feature tenor Rolando Villazón in a yet to be announced role, mezzo-soprano Eugenia Forteza, who will take on the role of Sister Umilia, and soprano Chelsea Feltman, who will play Sister Aurora (per IMDB).

Villazon, a renowned tenor is not new to the movies. He appeared in “Joyeux Noël” as well as a cinematic adaptation of “La Bohème,” alongside Anna Netrebko. He is also set to star in an upcoming adaptation of “Die Zauberflöte.”

Forteza has appeared in Teatro Grattacielo’s film production of “Fedora” as well as the world premiere of “Tabula Rasa.” She has also performed alongside such companies as New Camerata Opera, New Amsterdam Opera, and Bare Opera. Among her upcoming projects is the role of Beppe in Teatro Grattacielo’s “L’Amico Fritz.”

Feltman has appeared in “Consensus Reality” and has performed with such companies as Mannes Opera, Opera Nova, The Secret Opera. She is also a teaching artist.

The film will be directed by Alejandro Monteverde, whose past credits include “Bella” and “Little Boy.”

Also included in the cast will be Virginia Bocelli, daughter of famed tenor Andrea Bocelli as well as Montserrat Espaldé, Romana Maggiora Vergano, Patch Darragh, Jeremy Bobb, Andrew Polk, and Giampiero Judica.

The film is currently in production in Buffalo, NY.
