Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Announces 2024 Winners

The Bundeswettbewerb Gesang has announced the 2024 winners.

Manuel Winckhler won the first prize in the opera/operetta category. The bass-baritone is in the midst of performances of “Die Zauberflöte” at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. He will also headline Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Berlin Philharmonic under Howard Griffiths at the end of the month.

Meanhile Gaja Napast won the second prize in the opera/operetta category and the Stiftung Rosenbaum Prize.

Annabelle Kern was awarded the third prize in the opera/operetta category while Matthias Lika won the first Konzet prize. The second Konzert prize went to Theresa Bertran and the third Konzert prize was awarded to Rory Green.

Barbara Skora won the prize of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, and Staatsoper Berlin, and Katarina Paula Felsberga won the Walter Kaminsky-Stiftung prize.

Serafina Starke and Aleksandra Domashchuk took home the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation prize.

Olga Surikova won the song prize for BDG-Stiftung Gesang.
