Brooklyn Art Song Society to present ‘Histories IV: Lachrimae’

The Brooklyn Art Song Society is set to present “Histories IV: Lachrimae.”

The concert on Jan. 5, 2025, which will be held at Roulette, 509 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, will showcase music by John Dowland and Henry Purcell. Dowland represented the pinnacle of the troubadour tradition while Purcell is credited as being the greatest British composer of the Baroque period and had a huge influence on Benjamin Britten.

The evening will feature Nola Richardson, Kate Maroney, Andrew Fuchs, Jonathan Woody, Spencer Myer, and Charles Weaver.

There will be a pre-concert lecture with Paul Shipper.

This is the latest concert in the company’s Histories series following “Das Wort,” “Medieval,” and “Renaissance.”
