The Gotham has announced that Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro” will receive the Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute at the 2023 Gotham Awards.

This is the first major award that the Leonard Bernstein biopic received. The Gotham Awards are American film awards, presented annually to the makers of independent films at a ceremony in New York City and are precursor awards to the Academy Awards.

“Maestro” made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and has been presented at the New York and BFI London Film Festivals.

The movie, which stars Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan, is set to open in theaters on Nov. 22 and will stream on Netflix on Dec. 20, 2023.
