Boston Lyric Opera has released a list of its free events taking place in Aug. 2025.

The first free community concert is a collaboration with the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society in historic Edgartown. Soprano Anya Matanovič and the company’s Chorus Director/Head of Music Brett Hodgdon on piano, perform selections from the operatic canon.

Performance Date: August 17, 2025

“STREET STAGE” heads to South Boston. Performances of familiar operatic arias, musical theater hits, and favorites from the American Songbook are presented on the 28-foot semitrailer pop-up stage.

Performance Date: August 20, 2025

Next, the “STREET STAGE” performance is presented at the Charlestown Navy Yard. 

Performance Date: August 23, 2025

Boston Lyric Opera closes its “BPL’s 2025 Concerts in the Courtyard” series with a free, family-friendly staged event featuring some of the Jane & Steven Akin Emerging Artists.

Performance Date: August 29, 2025
