Bolshoi Theatre Announces ‘Spring. Love Opera’ Gala

The Bolshoi Theatre has announced the “Spring. Love Opera!” gala.

The gala, which will be held on March 9, will be headlined by Plácido Domingo who will bring a number of important opera stars to the Bolshoi for the first time.

Domingo will be accompanied by Sonya Yoncheva, Aida Garifullina, Oksana Dyka, Maria Kataeva, Javier Camarena, and Erwin Schrott. The Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra will be conducted by maestro Anton Grishanin.

Domingo will return to the Bolshoi following a gala celebration in the fall while Yoncheva will make her debut at the theater. The soprano recently performed for the Met Opera Live concert series and is set to release her latest album “Rebirth.”

Meanwhile, Garifullina returns to the Bolshoi where she recently performed Musetta in “La Bohème” conducted by Domingo. Meanwhile, Dyka has performed at the Bolshoi in a production of “Un ballo in Maschera.”

Kaeteva, who won Operalia in 2019 is a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein while Camarena will be singing in Moscow for the first time. Schrott is well known for his interpretation of “Don Giovanni” as well as the works of Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini, and Bizet.
