“I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce the semi-finalists for this year’s NEXTGEN. Fostering the next generation of creatives is core to BMP’s mission, and we started this program many years ago to help BMP support and stay connected to the young talent coming up in opera and music-theatre. I feel strongly that this cohort exhibits the wide range of styles in which young composers today are writing, and I can’t wait to see what they will do to move the genre forward in the future,” said BMP President and Creative Director Beth Morrison.
Past winners include Emma O’Halloran and Niloufar Nourbakhsh.
