The Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Komische Oper Berlin have announced that the 2G+ rule will apply for entry starting Nov. 27, 2021.

The Senate of Berlin decided to impose an altered version of 2G+, where vaccinated and recovered persons will not be obliged to have an additional negative COVID-19 test, but must wear a medical mask during the entire stay in the theater, including when seated. The number of hospitalized persons in the City of Berlin has not yet reached the critical value of six per 100,000 population, so the Senate did not order a testing mandate.

Oper Leipzig and Semperoper Dresden are closed until Jan. 9, 2022, and Dec. 12, 2021, respectively. The Bayerische Staatsoper and Oper Frankfurt have tightened rules for entry, imposing 2G+ rule with a testing obligation.

The current seven-day incidence in Berlin stands at 369.6.
