
Berlin State Opera Announces Ring Cycle for 2025-26 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Berlin State Opera has announced that it will present The Ring Cycle during the 2025-26 season.
The company said that it would present Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production in two cycles at the beginning of the 2025-26 season.
Christian Thielemann who conducted the Staatskapelle at the celebrated premieres of the productions in October 2022, will conduct Wagner’s monumental work as General Music Director of the Staatsoper.
The cast will include Michael Volle as Wotan and Der Wanderer, Anja Kampe as Brünnhilde, Andreas Schager as Siegfried), Vida Miknevičiūtė as Sieglinde, and Eric Cutler as Siegmund.,
Other cast members include Mika Kares as Fasolt, Hunding and Hagen, Johannes Martin Kränzle as Alberich, Claudia Mahnke as Fricka, Anna Kissjudit as Erda, Stephan Rügamer as Mime, Roman Trekel in the role of Donner, Lauri Vasar as Gunther, Peter Rose as Fafner, and Marina Prudenskaya as Waltraute.
The first cycle will be held between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3 while the second one will be Oct. 5 through Oct. 12, 2025.
