
Ben Bliss, Matthew Polenzani, Huw Montague Rendall, Natalie Lewis Headline Vocal Arts DC’s 2026-27 Season

The season opens with tenor Ben Bliss and pianist Christopher Allen in a program drawn from German and French song, including works by Schumann, Liszt, and Strauss alongside aria favorites.
Performance Date: Oct. 4, 2026, Live! At 10th & G, Washington, D.C.
Tenor Matthew Polenzani and pianist Ken Noda present an evening of song at the French Embassy, opening with Schubert’s “Schwanengesang.”
Performance Date: Nov. 9, 2026, La Maison Française, Washington, D.C.
The Gerald Perman Emerging Artists Debut Recital features soprano Amanda Batista and pianist Myra Huang in a program of Spanish and Latin American song, with works by Xavier Montsalvatge, Manuel Fernández Caballero, and others.
Performance Date: Feb. 14, 2027, Live! At 10th & G, Washington, D.C.
The 2nd Annual songSLAM DC, presented with Sparks & Wiry Cries, brings together ten composer-performer teams from the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
Performance Date: March 13, 2027, Live! At 10th & G, Washington, D.C.
Mezzo-soprano Natalie Lewis and pianist Myra Huang present a program spanning Brahms’s “Zigeunerlieder” and Mahler to the American spiritual tradition.
Performance Date: April 11, 2027, Live! At 10th & G, Washington, D.C.
The season concludes with baritone Huw Montague Rendall and pianist Carrie-Ann Matheson in a program opening with Vaughan Williams’s “Songs of Travel” and culminating in Mahler’s “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen” in the version for voice and piano.
