By Logan MartellFollowing a safe and successful run in 2020, the Bayreuth Baroque Festival is set to return in September 2021 for a concert of baroque opera favorites at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Margravial Opera House.
Among the works will be Max Emanuel Cencic’s award-winning production of Nicola Porpora’s “Carlo il Calvo,” featuring last year’s cast that included Julia Lezhneva, Franco Fagioli, Max Emanuel Cencic and Bruno de Sá. This March, festival Artistic Director Max Emanuel Cencic was awarded the Honorary Prize of the German Record Critics for his work. He will receive the award during this year’s festival.
