Bayerische Staatsoper to Stream ‘The Queen of Spades’ with Asmik Grigorian

The Bayerische Staatsoper is set to stream its new production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades.”
The company will showcase the opera on Feb. 10, 2024, on its Staatsoper.TV and on Medici.TV.
This brand-new production is conducted by young maestro Aziz Shokhakimov and directed by Benedict Andrews. The production features Set Design by Rufus Didwiszus, Costume Design by Victoria Behr, and Lighting by Jon Clark.
Asmik Grigorian and Bradon Jovanovich lead the cast, including legendary Violeta Urmana, Roman Burdenko, Boris Pinkhasovich, and Victoria Karkacheva.
The opera is set to open on Feb. 4 and will run through Feb. 20, 2024. It will then return in July with Lise Davidsen for the Musich Opera Festival.
