The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced the launch of a new record label entitled Bayerische Staatsoper Recordings.

The company will launch its label in May 2021 in order to document the company’s excellence, versatility, and tradition.

The first album to be launched by the label will be Kirill Petrenko and the Bayerische Staatsorchester’s performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 7. The recording will be available on CD and online on May 28, 2021. 

It will be followed by the release of “Die Tote Stadt” on DVD and Blu-Ray starring Jonas Kaufmann and Marlis Petersen. The performance recording will be released in July and will be followed by a recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 D major at the end of the year.

More recording will be announced at a later date.
