Bayerische Staatsoper Cancels Second Performance of ‘The Devil of Loudun’

The Bayerische Staatsoper has canceled its second performance of “The Devil of Loudun.”

The company noted, “to our great regret, the second performance of the new festival production The Devil of Loudun’ on June 30, 2022 has to be canceled. Due to the current infection, there are several personnel outages in the crew, which cannot be replaced due to the complexity of the show.”

Subscribers and ticket holders of the performances will be contacted. The remaining performances of the opera will be on July 3, 2022 and July 7, 2022. 
 
“The Devil of Loudun” is currently starring Aušrine Stundyte, Ursula Hesse von den Steinen, Nadezhda Gulitskaya, Lindsay Ammann, Danae Kontora, Nadezhda Karyazina, Wolfgang Koch, Martin Winkler, Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke, and Andrew Harris. Vladimir Jurowski conducts Simon Stone’s production.
