Bayerische Staatsoper Announces Another Conductor Change for ‘La Cenerentola’

The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a new conductor change for its production of “La Cenerentola.”

The company said that for performances on Oct. 6, 9, and 11, 2022, Antonino Fogliani will conduct instead of Stefano Montanari.

Fogliani is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since 2017 and Music Director of the Festival Rossini in Wildbad since 2012. He has conducted at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Donizetti Theater Bergamo and the Bayerische Staatsoper.

He is set to conduct a production by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle and a cast that includes Alasdair Kent, Florian Sempey, Renato Girolami, Jessica Niles, Daria Proszek, Teresa Iervolino, and Erwin Schrott.
