Bayerische Staatsoper Announces Conductor Change for ‘La Cenerentola’

The Bayerische Staatsoper has announced a conductor change for its performance of “La Cenerentola” on Oct. 4, 2022.

The company said that Diego Matheuz will conduct instead of Stefano Montanari.

Matheuz is a graduate of the internationally known Venezuelan Sistema, and Principal Guest Conductor of Orchestra Mozart and Principal Conductor of Teatro la Fenice. He recently conducted at the Rossini Opera Festival, Staatsoper Berlin, and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, among others. 

He is set to conduct a cast that includes Alasdair Kent, Florian Sempey, Renato Girolami, Jessica Niles, Daria Proszek, Teresa Iervolino, and Erwin Schrott.

“La Cenerentola” is set to be performed through Oct. 11 with Montanari returning for the next performance on Oct. 6, 2022.
