Bayerische Staatsoper Announces a Third Cast Change for ‘Der Fliegende Holländer’

The Bayerische Staatsoper has lost another cast member for its production of “Der Fliegende Holländer.”

The company announced that Patrick Lange will take over at the podium replacing the originally scheduled Mikko Franck.

This is the third cast change for the production following the withdrawal of Gerald Finley and Asmik Grigorian.

Lange has been the Music Director of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and has also conducted at the Bavarian State Opera, Zurich Opera House, the Canadian Opera Company, the Korean National Opera, the Stuttgart State Opera, the Opéra national du Rhin, and the Frankfurt Opera. 

Lange conducts a cast that includes Nicholas Brownlee, Camilla Nylund, Franz-Josef Selig, Benjamin Bruns, Natalie Lewis, Tansel Akzeybek, and Gerald Finley. “Der Fliegende Holländer” opens on March 25 and runs through March 31, 2025.
