Baryshnikov Arts Presents little OPERA theatre of ny’s ‘Jupiter’s Journey to the Earth’

The world premiere work which is created by the little OPERA theatre of ny, will be presented on May 10 – 12, 2024 and features Rufus Müller, Brian Downen, Jennifer Roderer, Paul Wheelan, Gregory Sheppard, Abigail Raiford, and David Morgans.
The opera, which is based on “Philemon and Baucis” from Ovid’s “Metamorphosis,” features a new singing translation by Mark Herman and Ronnie Apter. It tells the story of the gods as they search for moral goodness after punishing a cruel humanity.
The story is adapted and directed by Philip Shneidman and conducted by Elliot Figg from the harpsichord.
