The Grammy Award-winning baritone Christopher Maltman has signed with MWA Management.

Maltman has appeared on stages worldwide, including the Royal Opera House, Salzburg Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and Teatro alla Scala in Milan, to name a few. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music, his breakthrough performance came when he won the Lieder Prize in the 1997 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

He gained much recognition for his expertise in the Mozart repertoire, especially in the role of Don Giovanni. Other roles in Maltman’s extensive and ever-growing catalog are Iago in “Otello,” Wotan in Wagner’s Ring Cycle, the title role of Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” Orest in “Elektra,” and many more.

Along with live performance, Maltman has a wide-ranging discography including John Corigliano’s Grammy award-winning “Ghost of Versailles” from Los Angeles Opera and the 2023 Erato recording of Berlioz’s “Roméo et Juliette” and Massenet’s “Cléopâtre” with the Orchestre Philarmonique de Strasbourg, led by John Nelson.

Maltman said on Instagram, “I am extremely excited to announce that I have joined @mwamanagement for worldwide representation. I look forward to an exciting new era in my career and all the wonderful new roles I have coming up. Not least the small task of filling Wotan’s godlike shoes in our new production of #dasrheingold #wagner @royaloperahouse.”
