The Tiroler Festspiele Erl has announced that Barbara Hannigan has been added to its upcoming double bill of “Bluebeard’s Castle” and “La Voix Humaine.”

“We are extremely pleased that we have been able to sign another world-class soprano, Barbara Hannigan. The Canadian is an exceptional artist and one of the leading interpreters of contemporary music. This summer she will take on the role of the woman in Poulenc’s ‘La voix humaine.’ Welcome, Barbara Hannigan!” said an email sent by the festival to make the announcement.

The production will be directed by Claus Guth and conducted by Martin Rajna. The Béla Bartók segment of the double bill will feature Florian Boesch and Christel Loetzsch.

Audiences can take in the works on July 11-18, 2025.
