Barbara Hannigan, Camilla Nylund & Regula Mühlemann Lead Palau de la Musica Catalana’s 2020-21 Season

The Palau de la Musica Catalana has announced its 2020-21 season featuring a number of guest orchestras and important soloists.

For this article we will highlight vocal performances.

The season opens with Opera y Flamenco with director and guitarist Juan Gómez “Chicuelo” conducting music by Bellini, Bizet, Puccini, Puccini, and Verdi. The concert will showcase soprano Charo Tris and tenor Ezequiel Casamada. The performance will alo include musicians D. Granato, Carlos Caro, J. Sanchez, and Santiago Amaya “El Tati” with singer Thais Hernandez and dancers Maria José Gonzáles and Iván Alcalá.

Camilla Nylund joins the Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu and Josep Pons for music by Wagner, R. Strauss, and Ligetti. 

Performance Dates: Nov. 25, 2020

Regula Mühlemann and Michael Nagy sing Brahms’ Ein Deutsche Requiem. They are joined by the Balthasar Neumann Chor & Orchester and conductor Thomas Hengelbrock.

Performance Dates: Feb. 4, 2021

Barbara Hannigan is set to conduct and perform alongside the Munich Philharmonic in a program of works by L. Nono, Mahler, and Haydn.

Performance Dates: Feb. 16, 2021

Yeree Suh, Tilman Lichdi, and Matthias Winckhler sing Haydn’s “The Creation” with Le Concert des Nations and La Capella Reial de Catalunya. Jordi Savall conducts.
