
Bach Choir of Pittsburgh Combines Bach & Chaplin with ‘Never Silenced’
By David SalazarThe Bach Choir of Pittsburgh will continue its Cirque du Cinéma season with “Never Silenced.”
The program explores artistic parallels between the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and the films of Charlie Chaplin, featuring such Bach choral works as “Jesu, meine Freude,” “Omnes generationes” from the “Magnificat,” selections from the “St. John Passion,” and the “Weihnachtsoratorium.” These works are paired with excerpts from many of Chaplin’s films, including “Caught in a Cabaret,” “A Night in the Show,” and “The Tramp.”
Performances are scheduled for Feb. 14, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh.
The showcases will be led by Artistic Director and conductor Thomas W. Douglas.
