AVA Announces Winter Recital With Music By Brahms, Britten & Vaughan Williams, Among Others

The Academy of Vocal Arts is set to showcase its Winter Recital on Feb. 12 and 14.

The recital will feature performances by tenor Roy Hage, baritone Timothy Renner, tenor John Matthew Myers, tenor Matthew White, soprano Yihan Duan, mezzo soprano Chelsea Laggan.

Jeannine B. Cowles Music Director Chair Maestro Christofer Macatsoris and Master Vocal Coach Richard A. Raub will accompany the performers.

Among the pieces that will be performed on the program are songs by Brahms, Benjamin Britten’s “Winter Words, Op. 52,” Vaughan Williams’ “Bright is the Ring of Words, Songs of Travel,” John Ireland’s “Sea Fever,” “Roger Quilter’s “Go Lovely Rose,” and Nicholas Brodszky’s “Because You’re Mine.”

The performances will be held at the Helen Corning Warden Theater and the performance on Feb. 12 will feature a reception for young professionals.
