Association Musica e Spettacolo Announces International Opera Singing Competition in Sorrento

The Association Musica e Spettacolo has come together with Opera e Lirica srls and Museo Correale di Terranova to present the International Opera Singing Competition in Sorrento.

The qualifying and final rounds for the competition are set to take place online where candidates will be divided into two categories based on age. The list of winners will then be published on Sept. 1st.

Then on Sept. 24, the prize-giving concert is set to take place a the Correale Museum. Winners will receive cash prizes, scholarships, access to competitions and participation in opera seasons, masterclasses, and interviews with major publications.

The competition’s jury will feature soprano Norma Fantini, conductor Ivan Antonio, soprano Romina Casucci, Plácido Domingo Jr., and manager Giusi Cuccaro. Among the major sponsors of this year’s competition are the Mimas Music Festival di Procida, Neapolitan Masters Competition, the Magazine Opera Life, the Foundation Fossano Musica, and Singing Academy OperaLab.
