
Asmik Grigorian & Iurii Samoilov Headline the Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Eugene Onegin’

The Metropolitan Opera is set to revive Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” in Deborah Warner’s production.
The production will mark the return of Asmik Grigorian as Tatiana where she will be joined by Iurii Samoilov as Onegin, tenor Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Lenski, mezzo-soprano Maria Barakova as Olga, and bass-baritone Alexander Tsymbalyuk as Prince Gremin. Mezzo-soprano Larissa Diadkova will reprise the role of Filippyevna.
Conductor Timur Zangiev will make his Met debut.
The opera will open on April 20 and will be performed eight times through May 16. The May 2 performance will be part of the Live in HD series. The April 20 and May 2 performances will also be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on the SiriusXM app and will also be streamed live on the Met’s website.
