Arthur Bosarge Named Sarasota Opera’s New Artistic Administrator

Sarasota Opera has announced that Arthur Bosarge is the company’s new Artistic Administrator.

Bosarge has been a key member of Sarasota Opera’s music staff since 2022, most recently serving as Chorus Master and Director of the Apprentice Artists Program. In his new position, Bosarge will manage the casting, scheduling, and artistic planning for Sarasota Opera productions and artist training programs. He will collaborate with Artistic Director Victor DeRenzi and General Director Richard Russell on long-term artistic goals and strategic initiatives.

Bosarge has held music staff positions at Utah Festival Opera, Opera Southwest, and Opera Birmingham, with notable work on productions including the American premiere of Coccia’s “Matilde.” He most recently served as Director of Choruses at Central City Opera during the summer. Bosarge holds degrees from The University of Alabama and Mannes College.

In a press release Bosarge said, “Stepping into a new role at a familiar place is exciting. Along with Maestro DeRenzi, Richard Russell, and our incredible staff, I’m honored to be a part of continuing the level of artistic excellence that Sarasota is known for.”
