Baritone Aris Argiris has published “The Interconnected Voice: A Pocket Guide for Young Classical Singers,” a manual aimed at classical singers, voice teachers, and students of vocal technique.

Argiris has spent more than three decades performing at opera houses and concert venues across Europe, with a repertoire centered on the works of Wagner, Verdi, and Strauss. Since 2016 he has served as Professor of Classical Voice at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Rather than proposing a new vocal method, per an official press release, the book examines how breathing, support, resonance, articulation, registration, language, and artistic expression function together, with the aim of bridging vocal science and the practical realities of professional singing. It addresses technical subjects such as the passaggio alongside broader professional questions, including how to choose a singing teacher and the role of a vocal coach.

“Writing this book was never about trying to be different from other books on vocal technique,” Argiris told OperaWire. “I simply wrote the book that I wish I had been able to read when I was a student and later as a young professional.

“My intention was to create a practical pocket guide that combines articles with clear illustrations, explaining the fundamental principles of classical vocal technique in simple, precise, and accessible language. Beyond technical subjects such as breathing, resonance, articulation, registration, or the passaggio, I also wanted to include topics that young singers often struggle with, such as how to choose a singing teacher, the role of a vocal coach, how to study efficiently, and how to approach the profession as a whole,” he concluded.”
