MUY Teatro in Buenos Aires, Argentina is set to present Salieri’s “Primo la musica e poi le parole” on Sept. 24, 2023.

Translated into Spanish as “Primero la música, después las palabras,” the showcase will be featured through Oct. 8, 2023, at  Humahuaca 4310.

The opera will star Guido Cavallo, Mauricio Meren, Julieta Nicoletti, and Denise Pertusi with Mauro Reynoso at the piano. Federico Chlopecki is the music director and Carolina Basaldúa is the stage director.

The production will be presented by Compañía Inefable.

Salieri’s comic opera premiered in 1786 and features a libretto by Giovanni Battista Casti. In the opera, a composer and a librettist must put together a new opera in four days. Among the challenges they face are a feuding producer and director, each of whom demands different requirements for the opera.
