Arena Di Verona To Celebrate Franco Zeffirelli During 2020 Season

The Arena di Verona has announced the 2020 season.

The festival opens with a new production of Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” and Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana.” The operas return to the stage for the first time since 2006.

Performance Dates: June 13-August 22, 2020

Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Verdi’s “Aida” returns to the stage for a series of performances.

Performance Dates: June 20-Sept. 5, 2020

Puccini’s “Turandot” returns to the stage in a historical staging by Zeffirelli.

Performance Dates: June 27-Sept. 3, 2020

A Gala Event is set to bring many surprises that audiences should not miss.

Performance Date: June 28, 2020

Arnaud Bernard’s production of Verdi’s “Nabucco” returns to the stage.

Performance Dates: July 4-Sept. 4, 2020

Plácido Domingo will headline an evening entitled “Gala Plácido Domingo.”

Performance Date: July 7, 2020

Franco Zeffirelli’s final production gets a revival. “La Traviata” will be showcased a year after premiering at the festival.

Performance Dates: August 1-Sept. 2, 2020

Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony concludes the season.

Performance Dates: August 23, 2020
