April Fredrick to Headline English Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-26 Cheltenham Residency Season

The English Symphony Orchestra has announced its Cheltenham Residency season.

There are five performances in total, but the second one, set for Dec. 2, 2025, features a chamber arrangement of Strauss’ “Four Last Songs” by James Ledger, coupled with a chamber version of Mahler’s Ninth Symphony. The soprano soloist for the program is April Fredrick. Kenneth Woods conducts the showcase.

In addition to her appearances with the English Symphony Orchestra, Fredrick has performed alongside the Orchestra of the Swan, Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra, D’Accord, Dei Gratia, Leicester Bach Choir, Paradiso Baroque, and the City of London Choir.

The program kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time.

The ensemble will also perform alongside other soloists such as pianist Freddy Kempf, clarinet player Julian Bliss, violinist Zoë Beyers, and violist Kate Musker.
