Antonio Pappano, Clay Hilley, Ausrine Stundyte & Nicky Spence Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia’s 2022-23 Season

The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia has announced it 2022-23 season featuring world class soloists.

Here is a look at the vocal performances of the season.

The season opens with Strauss’ “Elektra” with Ausrine Stundyte, Elisabeth Strid, Petra Lang, Neal Cooper, and Kostas Smoriginas. Antonio Pappano conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 18-22, 2022

Antonio Pappano conducts Clay Hilley in a program entitled “East of Wien.” The program includes music by Haydn, Kodály, and Dvořák.

Performance Dates: Dec. 8-10, 2022

Antonio Pappano leads the chorus and orchestra of Santa Cecilia in Mendelssohn’s Psalm 114 op. 51 and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7

Performance Dates: Jan. 12-14, 2023

Daniele Gatti will conduct Mendelssohn’s “Elijah.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 9-11, 2023

Pablo Heras-Casado conducts a program entitled “Theatre of Voices” featuring Berio’s Symphony, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and The firebird suite n. 2.

Performance Dates: March 9-11, 2023

Thomas Adés’s Celestial spheres program will include Holst’s “The Planets” and Adés’ “Paradiso.”

Performance Dates: March 16-18, 2023

Fabio Biondi conducts soprano Marie Lys and contralto Emőke Baráth in music by Vivaldi.

Performance Dates: April 6-8, 2023

Antonio Pappano and Asmik Grigorian team up for music by Ambrosini Dosàna, R. Strauss, and Shostakovich.

Performance Dates: April 13, 2023

Jakub Hrůša conducts music by Dvořák and Janáček with soloists soprano Kateřina Kněžíková and tenor Nicky Spence. The program is entitled “Bohemian legends and prayers.”

Performance Dates: April 20-22, 2023

Chamber Music 

Julian Prégardien and Martin Helmchen lead a recital of Music by Schubert and Beethoven.

Performance Dates: Feb. 1, 2023
