Annette Dasch, Patrizia Ciofi, Ève-Maud Hubeaux & Levente Molnár Lead Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur’s 2021-22 Season

L’Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur has announced its 2021-22 season. Here is a look at the operatic and vocal performances.

Opera

Réunion de Famille” features music and arias from “Akhnaten,” “La Dame blanche,” “Macbeth,” and “Le Voyage dans la lune,” and spotlights the Choeur de l’Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur. Daniele Callegari conducts.

Performance date: Sep. 11, 2021

Philip Glass‘ “Akhnaten” spotlights Julie Robard-Gendre as Nefertiti, Patrizia Ciofi as Reine Tye, and Fabrice Di Falco in the title role. Joan Martín-Royo, Frédéric Diquero, and Vincent Le Texier round out the cast with Léo Warynski conducting a production by Lucinda Childs.

Performance dates: Nov. 12 – 16, 2021

Franz Lehár’s operetta “Die lustige Witwe” features Camille Schnoor as Hanna, Frédéric Cornille as Danilo, and Philippe Ermellier as Baron Zeta. The cast also includes Amélie Robins, Samy Camps, Richard Rittelmann, Corinne Parenti, Fréderic Scotto, Eric Ferri, and François Poutaraud. Bruno Membrey conducts a production by Benoît Benichou.

Michèle Reverdy’s contemporary opera “Le Cosmichomiche” showcases soprano Mélanie Boisvert, mezzo-soprano Albane Carrère, and baritone Francesco Biamonte. Léo Warynski conducts a production by Victoria Duhamel.

Soprano Clara Meloni performs Pierre Jodlowski’s “La Ralentie.”

A semi-staged version of François-Adrien Boieldieu’s “La Dame Blanche” stars Benoît Dattez, Patrick Kabongo, Amélie Robins, Sophie Marin-Degor, Laurent Kubla, Marie Kalinine, Luca Lombardo, and Mickael Guedj. Alexandra Cravero conducts a production by Pauline Bureau and Valérie Nègre.

Performance dates: Jan. 21 – 25, 2022

Sheva Tehoval, Chloé Chaume, and Violette Polchi star in Olivier Fredj’s production of Offenbach’s “Le Voyage dans la Lune.” Marie Lenormand, Matthieu Lecroart, Kaelig Bochet, Eric Vignau, and Thibaut Despantes round out the cast with Chloé Dufresne conducting.

Performance dates: Feb. 13 – 17, 2022

Jean-Baptiste Lully’s “Phaëton” spotlights Deborah Cachet, Anna Reinhold, Gilen Goicoechea, Aurélia Legay, Frédéric Caton, Jean-François Lombard, Arnaud Richard, and Mark Van Arsdale in the title role. Jérôme Correas conducts a production by Eric Oberdorff.

Performance dates: March 23 – 27, 2022

Larisa Andreeva portrays Lady Macbeth, and Levente Molnár stars in the title role of Verdi‘s “Macbeth.” The cast also includes Ivan Defabiani, Giacomo Prestia, David Astorga, Marta Mari, and Nika Guliashvili. Daniele Callegari conducts a production by Daniel Benoin.

Solistes issus du CFA Métropole Chant Lyrique perform Sergio Monterisi’s “Babel” with composer conducting a production by Magali Thomas.
