Kammeroper Schloss Rhein to Present Final Showcase of ‘Opera Bridge’

By David Salazar

Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg will present the concluding Showcase Concert of “Opera Bridge – From Early Career to the European Stage” on July 30, 2026.

The performance is a German Irish Erasmus+ collaboration between Musikkultur Rheinsberg and Opera Collective Ireland.

Thirteen of the participating singers will appear in a multimedia performance combining opera, spoken word, and responsive digital visuals. The program includes music by Händel, Mozart, Wagner, and Puccini, alongside autobiographical spoken texts in which the artists reflect on preparing for professional careers in European opera. Live close up footage will be digitally transformed in real time, responding to the music and creating a visual dialogue between voice, piano, stage presence, and mediated image. The visual design draws on Alain Resnais’ “Last Year at Marienbad” and Henri Georges Clouzot’s unfinished film “L’Enfer,” which starred Romy Schneider.

The singers include Adam McDonagh, Anna Lena Auer, Christian Noel Bauer, Cleo Röhlig, Deirdre Higgins, Emma Power, Hyerin Park, Kirill Novokhatko, Luzia Ernst, Megan O’Neill, Janina Schweitzer, Luke Horner, and Sarah Luttrell.

They will be accompanied by pianists Felice Venanzoni and Enric Roda Beltran under the artistic direction of Sina Schmidt.

The concert follows a series of workshops with international industry experts on building a career in European opera, artistic entrepreneurship, and the development of a professional identity, alongside camera acting, musical coaching, and collaborative performance development.

“Opera Bridge” is designed to support emerging opera singers transitioning from training to professional careers across Europe, pairing the fourteen participating artists with Irish and international industry experts through mentoring, masterclasses, and collaborative learning.

The Showcase Concert is presented as part of the Rheinsberg Summer Opera Festival 2026.
