Annapolis Opera to Present Recital Starring Colleen Daly & Craig Kier

By David Salazar

Annapolis Opera has announced a one-night recital featuring soprano Colleen Daly and Artistic and Music Director Craig Kier.

On May 3, 2026, Daly joins Kier at the piano for an afternoon recital at Asbury United Methodist Church, presenting a personal program that includes arias from Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah,” Puccini’s “La Rondine” and “La bohème,” Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro,” Verdi’s “La traviata,” and Tom Cipullo’s “Glory Denied,” alongside numbers from Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” and “A Little Night Music.”

“This show is, in many ways, a leap,” Daly said, per an official press release. “It’s more vulnerable than anything I’ve done before, and less about presenting a polished final product than it is about sharing something real. It’s also a reminder that while opera can feel elevated and grand, it can — and should — also feel human and accessible, rooted in stories that belong to all of us.

“Annapolis Opera has been a meaningful part of my life both professionally and personally — it’s where I’ve continued to grow as an artist, friend, mother, wife, and person. Getting to create this piece within that community makes it all the more special.”
