Anna Netrebko’s management has released a statement regarding the April 9 performance in Istanbul being canceled.
The soprano’s team released a statement noting, “Anna Netrebko was looking forward to making her debut in Istanbul on 9 April 2025 in Istanbul in a concert at the Volkswagen Arena. Unfortunately, due to the current ongoing situation in the city and the country, the promoters decided to cancel the event out of concern for the safety of the audience and the artists. Anna is looking forward to returning to Istanbul as soon as circumstances permit and hopes that everyone stays safe in the meantime.”
The concert was set to showcase the soprano alongside Yusif Eyvazov.
Netrebko next appears in Bratislava with Freddie de Tommaso in concert. She is also set to appear at the Berlin State Opera in a production of “Il Trovatore.”
