A concert featuring famed soprano Anna Netrebko and her husband tenor Yusif Eyvazov which was originally scheduled for February 28 at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège has been canceled, according to the official statement on the company’s website.
The stated reason for the cancelation is illness.
The concert is postponed for Sunday, March 8. The opera house has informed the audience that the purchased tickets will remain valid for this new date.
In addition to the concert, Netrebko is set to reprise the role of “Tosca” at the Metropolitan Opera this March, followed by performances of “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Opéra National de Paris. She will also sing her first-ever “Don Carlo” at the Semperoper Dresden before returning to “Tosca” at the Salzburg Festival and Royal Opera House.
Eyvazov will take on “Don Carlo” in Dresden with Netrebko and in Salzburg with Anja Harteros; he will also appear in “Adriana Lecouvreur” in Paris alongside the famed soprano. His other upcoming engagements include a production of “Aida” in Vienna, and “Pagliacci” and “Cavalleria Rusticana” at the Arena di Verona.
