The Greek National Opera is set to present All Star Verdi Gala led by Anna Netrebko on July 10, 2021.

The gala will showcase Netrebko in her Greece debut at the Panathenaic Stadium, the biggest and safest open-air space in Athens. She will perform alongside mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili, which whom Netrebko has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, tenor Yusif Eyvazov, Netrebko’s husband and frequent on stage partner, and Greek baritone Dimitri Platanias.

The gala will be held on the occasion of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of “Aida’s” world premiere in Cairo and will feature arias and duets from “Aida,” “Il trovatore,” “La forza del destino,” “Otello,” and “Rigoletto.”

The GNO Orchestra will be conducted by distinguished French conductor Philippe Auguin.
