New Productions
Evgeny Titov directs a new production of Wagner’s “Parsifal,” conducted by Jakub Hrůša. Stanislas de Barbeyrac sings the title role, with Ekaterina Gubanova as Kundry, Christian Gerhaher as Amfortas, Brindley Sherratt as Gurnemanz, and Mark Stone as Klingsor.

Philipp Stölzl directs a new production of Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera,” conducted by Jakub Hrůša. Charles Castronovo sings Gustavo III, with Malin Byström as Amelia, Aleksei Isaev as Count Anckarstroem, Anita Rachvelishvili and Kseniia Nikolaieva as Madame Ulrica Arvidson, and Katharina Konradi as Oscar.

Barrie Kosky directs a new production of Wagner’s “Götterdämmerung,” conducted by Antonio Pappano. Andreas Schager sings Siegfried, Elisabet Strid sings Brünnhilde, Mika Kares sings Hagen, Thomas Lehman sings Gunther, and Annika Schlicht sings Waltraute. Christopher Purves sings Alberich and Amanda Majeski sings Gutrune.

Ola Ince directs the world premiere of Brett Dean and Matthew Jocelyn’s “Good Sometimes Queen” at the Linbury Theatre. Jennifer France sings soprano and Lotte Betts-Dean sings mezzo-soprano, with the Doric String Quartet.

Netia Jones directs a new production of Mozart’s “Così fan tutte,” conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock. Louise Alder sings Fiordiligi, Simone McIntosh sings Dorabella, Mingjie Lei sings Ferrando, Huw Montague Rendall sings Guglielmo, Gerald Finley sings Don Alfonso, and Emily Pogorelc sings Despina.

RB Schlather directs a new production of Rameau’s “Les Boréades” at the Linbury Theatre, in a co-production with Irish National Opera. Camille Delaforge conducts the Irish Baroque Orchestra. The work marks the first performance of a Rameau opera at Covent Garden.

Netia Jones directs the Royal Opera premiere of Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s chamber opera “UR_” at the Linbury Theatre, presented as part of the RBO/SHIFT festival.

Oliver Mears directs a new production of Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda,” in a co-production with the Salzburg Easter Festival and Greek National Opera, conducted by Antonio Pappano. Anna Netrebko sings the title role, Stefan Pop sings Enzo Grimaldo, Gabriele Viviani sings Barnaba, Eve-Maud Hubeaux sings Laura Adorno, Tareq Nazmi sings Alvise Badoero, and Agnieszka Rehlis sings La Cieca.

Kasper Holten’s production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” returns, conducted by Stefano Montanari, in a co-production with Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, The Israeli Opera, and Houston Grand Opera. Gordon Bintner sings the title role, Roberto Tagliavini sings Leporello, Rachel Willis-Sørensen and Lydia Grindatto share Donna Anna, Aigul Akhmetshina and Georgia Mae Ellis share Donna Elvira, and Bogdan Volkov and Emmanuel Fonoti-Fuimaono share Don Ottavio. Giulia Semenzato and Sarah Brady share Zerlina, with Dingle Yandell as Masetto and Andreas Bauer Kanabas as The Commendatore.

Richard Jones’ Olivier Award-winning production of Händel’s “Alcina” returns, in a co-production with The Metropolitan Opera, New York. Lisette Oropesa sings the title role, Emily D’Angelo sings Ruggiero, Mary Bevan sings Morgana, and Beth Taylor sings Bradamante. The cast is rounded out by Ru Charlesworth and Edward Grint.

Philip Venables and Ted Huffman’s “4.48 Psychosis,” based on Sarah Kane’s play, arrives at the Linbury Theatre for its highly-anticipated debut on that stage, a decade after its 2016 premiere. Naomi Woo conducts.

Damiano Michieletto’s production of Bizet’s “Carmen” returns, conducted by Sesto Quatrini, in a co-production with Teatro Real, Madrid and La Scala, Milan. Ginger Costa-Jackson and Ramona Zaharia share the title role, Russell Thomas and Valentyn Dytiuk share Don José, Adriana González and Simona Mihai share Micaëla, and Alexander Vinogradov sings Escamillo.

David McVicar’s production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” returns, conducted by Dalia Stasevska and Julia Jones. The cast includes Elena Villalón, Marianna Hovanisyan, and Sofia Fomina as Pamina; Miles Mykkanen and David Fischer as Tamino; Mikhail Timoshenko and Konstantin Krimmel as Papageno; Aleksandra Olczyk and Olga Pudova as the Queen of the Night; and Adam Palka and Alexander Köpeczi as Sarastro.

The cast for “Il Tabarro” includes Étienne Dupuis as Michele, Natalya Romaniw as Giorgetta, and Seokjong Baek as Luigi. Ermonela Jaho sings “Suor Angelica,” with Raehann Bryce-Davis as La Zia Principessa. Bryn Terfel leads “Gianni Schicchi” in the title role, with Elena Villalón as Lauretta and Nico Darmanin as Rinuccio.

Christof Loy’s production of Strauss’s “Elektra” returns for its first revival since its 2024 premiere, conducted by Semyon Bychkov. Ausrine Stundyte sings the title role, Sara Jakubiak sings Chrysothemis, Violeta Urmana sings Klytämnestra, Derek Welton sings Orest, and Charles Workman sings Ägisth.

Special Performances
Jakub Hrůša conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in a one-night concert pairing Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” with Bartók’s “Duke Bluebeard’s Castle” on the Main Stage. Elīna Garanča sings Judith and Christian Van Horn sings Duke Bluebeard.

The Jette Parker Artists celebrate their 25th anniversary with a series of Crush Room recitals throughout the season, a Silver Anniversary Exhibition in the Linbury Foyer, and a celebratory evening of music in the Linbury Theatre on April 21, 2027.
The season also includes the return of the annual Jukebox event and concludes with the Jette Parker Artists Summer Performance on the Main Stage on July 25, 2027, directed by Talia Stern and conducted by Giovanni Fanizza.
