Anna Netrebko has confirmed that she will sing “Tosca” at the Puccini Festival in 2027.
Following her run of the opera in Vienna, the soprano took to social media and said, “TOSCA! One of easiest vocally roles… and very difficult to act it well 🌟 It was very solid run of performances at @wienerstaatsoper classic production! With Maestro @danieloren_official 🙏🏻♥️ and great singers @christopher_maltman @ivangyngazov @devineatmontenor ♥️ I will be back to this role at @puccinifestival next summer.”
The news comes after the festival announced that the soprano would return to the festival for two operas in 2027.
Netrebko debuted the title role of Tosca in 2018 and has since performed it at the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Bolshoi Theatre, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Real de Madrid, Arena di Verona, and Teatro San Carlo.
