Anna Netrebko is returning to the United States for the first time since 2019.

The soprano is scheduled to give a recital at the Palm Beach Opera for its gala on Feb. 3, 2025.

In a statement to the Associated Press, the diva said “I am honored to be lending my voice to the Palm Beach Opera’s annual gala.”

The soprano will perform alongside pianist Ángel Rodríguez at The Breakers hotel.

Past Palm Beach Opera galas have featured Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Renée Fleming, Bryn Terfel, Isabel Leonard, and Piotr Beczala, among others.

Regarding the list of past singers, the soprano said, “It means a lot to me to be joining the remarkable list of illustrious singers that have participated in this celebration over the last decade.”

The return to the United States comes after Peter Gelb dropped the soprano from the Metropolitan Opera in 2022 when the war in Ukraine began due to her past support of Vladimir Putin. However, the soprano condemned the war in Ukraine on three occasions. She later sued the Met and its general manager for defamation and breach of contract in a case that is pending.

She last performed in the U.S. in a New Year’s Eve gala at the Metropolitan Opera and later appeared in the company’s virtual gala.

The soprano has since performed with many of the great theaters in the world including the Wiener Staatsoper, Salzburg Easter Festival, Paris Opéra, Arena di Verona,  Teatro alla Scala, and Berlin’s Staatsoper unter den Linden to sold-out performances.
