Angela Meade, Gregory Kunde, Francesca Dotto Lead Teatro Municipale di Piacenza’s Fall 2021 Season

Italy’s Teatro Municipale di Piacenza has announced the fall 2021 season. Here is a look at the operatic and vocal concerts.

Opera

The season opens with Bellini’s “Norma” starring Angela Meade, Stefano La Colla, Michele Pertusi, and Paola Gardina. 

Performance Dates: Oct. 20-24, 2021

Donizetti’s “Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali” will star Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Nicolò Donini, Marco Filippo Romano, Paola Leoci, Silvia Beltrami, Matteo Desole, Andrea Vincenzo Bonsignore, Stefano Marchisio, Dario Giorgelè, and Juliusz Loranzi. Giovanni Di Stefano conducts the production by Renato Bonajuto.

Performance Dates: Nov, 17-21, 2021

Gregory Kunde sings the title role of Verdi’s “Ernani” alongside Francesca Dotto, Ernesto Petti, and Evgeny Stavinsky. Alvise Casellati conducts the production by Gianmaria Aliverta.

Performance Dates: Dec. 14-19, 2021

Concerts 

Filippo Mineccia sings a program entitled “Mozart in Italia” with the Cameristi Farnesiani and Luca Oberti. The concert includes selections from “Mitridate,” “Ascanio in Alba,” and “Betulia Liberata.” The program will be completed by works by Guglielmi, Jommelli, and Gluck.

Performance Date: Sept. 24, 2021

The season concludes with a concert to celebrate San Silvestro. Leonardo Sini conducts the Orchestra Farnesiana with soloist Silvia Dalla Benetta. The program includes works by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, and Strauss.
