Angela Meade & Desirée Rancatore Lead Teatro Carlo Felice’s ‘Anna Bolena’

On Feb. 18, the Teatro Carlo Felice is set to present a production of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena.”

The production will mark Sesto Quatrini’s debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice and it will also mark the first time he conducts Donizetti’s early masterpiece in Italy.

He will be joined by an international cast that will be led by Angela Meade and Desirée Rancatore sharing the title role. John Osborn and Giorgio Misseri alternate as Lord Riccardo Percy while Sonia Ganassi and Paola Gardina star as Giovanna Seymour. Finally, Nicola Ulivieri and Alessio Cacciamani take on Enrico VIII.

The cast will be rounded out by Marina Comparato, Sofia Koberidze, Roberto Maietta, and Manuel Pierattelli. Alfonso Antoniozzi will direct the production with the stage set and video design by Monica Manganelli, costumes by Gianluca Falaschi, choreography by Luisa Baldinetti, and lighting by Luciano Novelli.

“Anna Bolena will also be performed on Feb. 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27, 2022.
