The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced its 2021-2022 season featuring a diverse program. Here are the opera productions for the season.

The season opens with “Gran Teatro Reinach” with Giuseppe Verzicco, Eleonora Buccarini, Lucrezia Drei, Valentino Buzza, Claudia Urru, Manuel Amati, Marco Bussi, Chiara Tirotta,, Massimo Fiocchi Malaspina, Filippo Lanzi, Thomas Rizzoli, Alfonso Antoniozzi, and Gianluca Martineghi.

Performance Dates: Dec. 11 & 12, 2021

Martina Belli and Ramona Zaharia lead Bizet’s “Carmen” in a production by Silvia Paoli. Jordi Benacer conducts a cast that also includes Arturo Chacon-Cruz, Azer Zada, Marco Caria, Alessandro Luongo, Laura Giordano, and Veronica Marini.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12-23, 2022

Anna Maria Chiuri leads Donizetti’s “La Favorita” with Simone Piazzola, Celso Albelo, and Simon Lim. Matteo Beltrami conducts the production by Anrea Cigni.

Performance Dates: Feb 25 & 27, 2022

Angela Meade and Carmela Remigio perform Bellini’s “Norma” with Stefan Pop and Michele Pertusi. Sesto Quattrini conducts the production by Nicola Berloffa.

Performance Dates: March 18-27, 2022

Kurt Weill’s “Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny” will be presented with a cast that includes Christopher Lemmings, Marianne Cornetti, Chris Merritt, Luiz Ottavio Faria, Anne-Marie Kremer, Tobias Hachler, Horst Lamnek, Alexander Milev, and Sergio Basile.
