Angela Gheorghiu has announced a new album for Signum Classics.
The soprano took to social media and said, ” I am thrilled to present my new recital album, ‘A te, Puccini,’ to be released by @signumrecords on January 26th. It is my personal tribute to Giacomo Puccini on the 100th anniversary of his death. Accompanied on the piano by Vincenzo Scalera, the album is a collection of wonderful songs, exceptionally composed for voice and piano by Puccini, including the world premiere of Melanconia, recently rediscovered in Lucca, Puccini’s birthplace.”
The album will mark her first since 2019 when she released “Angela Gheorghiu: Plaisir d’amour” for Decca Classics.
This season, Gheorghiu is set to return to the Royal Opera House for “La Bohème.”
