Angel Blue & Arturo Chacón-Cruz Lead San Francisco Opera’s ‘Il Trovatore’

The San Francisco Opera is set to open its 101st season with Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.”

The opera, which will be performed from Sept. 12 to Oct. 1, will feature Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim leading the San Francisco Opera Orchestra with the Opera Chorus and a cast that includes soprano Angel Blue, tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk, and baritone George Petean.

The company will use Sir David McVicar’s production, directed by Roy Rallo.

Completing the cast are bass Robert Pomakov as Ferrando and current San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows Edward Graves and Mikayla Sager as Ruiz and Inez, respectively.

San Francisco Opera will offer a live stream of the opera on Sept. 20; the stream will be available to watch on demand for 48 hours.
