Andrés Orozco-Estrada & Elizabeth DeShong Highlight Houston Symphony Orchestra’s 2020-21 Season

The Houston Symphony Orchestra has announced its 2020-21 season featuring three vocal performances.

Andrés Orozco-Estrada conducts the rarely performed work Schmidt’s “The Book with Seven Seals.” The cast is set to include Christian Elsner, Nicholas Brownlee, Meghan Kasanders, Kelley O’Connor, Maximilian Schmitt and Jan Martiník. The Houston Symphony Chorus is led by Betsy Cook Weber.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26 & 27, 2020

Jane Glover conducts Bach’s Easter Oratorio and Magnificat with soloists Yulia Van Doren, Elizabeth DeShong, Jonas Hacker, and Hadleigh Adams. The Houston Symphony Chorus is led by Betsy Cook Weber.

Performance Dates: April 2 & 3, 2021

Andrés Orozco-Estrada and Betsy Cook Weber lead Beethoven’s Missa solemnis. Soloists to be announced.

Performance Dates: May 14-16, 2021

The season will also showcase such world renown musicians as Hilary Hahn, Midori, Enrique Mazzola, and Christoph Eschenbach.
