Anastasiia Petrova Wins Giuseppe Di Stefano International Lyric Competition

Anastasiia Petrova has won first prize at the Giuseppe Di Stefano International Lyric Competition.

As part of her victory, Petrova will get a chance to take on the role of the Queen of the Night in the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese’s production of “The Magic Flute” this summer. That production will take place on July 24 and 26 and will be directed by Maria Paola Viano.

In second place was Jessica Ricci, who will take on the role of Pamina. Third place went to William Hernandez, who will get the chance to interpret Papageno.

Aziza Omarova earned fourth place while Yuki Mizuno took home fifth. In sixth was Martina Savianno.

Meanwhile, other artists, including Dioklea Hoxha, Antonino Arcilesi, and Samuele Di Leo, were recognized and will get the roles of Papagena, Sarastro, and Tamino, respectively.

Di Leo and Saviana, both Italian, took home the Special Prize of the “Friends of Music of Alcamo” and will get to perform in an exclusive concert during the 2024-25 season. The Kiwanis Club of Trapani awarded Omarova with a scholarship of 1,000 euros.

The Opéra Grand Avignon Special Prize was also given to Omarova, who will get to present a concert at the Opéra Grand Avignon in 2025-26.

The competition jury included Luciana Serra, Walter Roccaro, Micaela Carosi, Simone Di Crescenzo, Ugo Guagliardo, Lisa Navach, Sebastian Schwarz, Luigi Stillo, and Maria Paola Viano.
