Opera Orlando Announces Return of ‘OperaX’ for 2026-27 Season

Opera Orlando’s “OperaX” series is set to return to Judson’s Live at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts this season.

The series pairs food and informal performance with lead ins to Opera Orlando’s MainStage productions, featuring guest artists, Opera Orlando Studio Artists, and local talent. Four shows are scheduled across the season.

“Flights of Puccini” features the cast and creative team from Opera Orlando’s “Madame Butterfly” performing selections from Puccini alongside a look at the production’s design.

Performance Date: Sept. 27, 2026


“Dueling Divas” follows with mezzo sopranos Laura Zahn and Sarah Kathryn Curtis, both appearing in Opera Orlando’s “Flying Dutchman,” in a competitive format hosted by baritone Gabriel Preisser with Nathan Cicero at the piano.

Performance Date: Jan. 10, 2027


“Love Potion No. 9”  draws on the cast of Opera Orlando’s “Elixir of Love,” and is hosted by Opera Orlando general director Gabriel Preisser, also with Cicero at the piano.

Performance Date: April 18, 2027


The season closes with “Opera-oke,” a game show format night in which opera singers perform popular music.
